About River City Ledger

by Rachel Brenner

Welcome to River City Ledger, an independent, investigative news outlet committed to asking hard questions, uncovering what’s hidden, and giving the people of River City (and beyond) the journalism they deserve — not just the headlines they’re handed.

My name is Rachel Brenner. I’m a reporter, researcher, and relentless question-asker who believes transparency isn’t optional — it’s a public right.

Why I Started This

After years of watching important issues get buried beneath PR spin, I launched River City Ledger to shine light where others look away. Too often, the truth gets delayed, distorted, or dismissed entirely when it threatens the wrong people. This site exists to push back — to document what’s really happening, name names when necessary, and follow the story to the end, no matter who it makes uncomfortable.

What You’ll Find Here

  • Investigative Reports on city government, infrastructure projects, public spending, and community-impact decisions.
  • Opinion & Analysis rooted in facts, not ideology.
  • Reader Submissions — anonymous or not — because the best leads often come from the people living it.
  • Public Records & Documents published in full whenever possible.

This isn’t a newspaper chasing clicks. It’s a ledger — a record. A written account of what was done, by whom, and at what cost to the people of this city.

My Promise to You

  • Every story will be researched, fact-checked, and ethically sourced.
  • I do not accept advertising, political donations, or corporate sponsorships.
  • No spin. No censorship. Just journalism.

Got a Tip?

If you’ve seen something you think deserves attention — from backroom deals to mismanaged public funds — you can Pitch a Story or Submit a Confidential Tip. I take every lead seriously, and I protect my sources.

River City Ledger isn’t here to play nice. It’s here to hold power accountable.

Thanks for reading — and more importantly, thanks for caring.
