River City Ledger is a simple tool: you paste in a claim, it gets checked, and a report comes back. This page explains plainly what happens to what you submit.

The text you submit. Whatever you paste into the claim box is sent to Claude (Anthropic's AI model) for analysis, along with live web searches run on your behalf to check it.

Images you attach. If you attach a screenshot instead of pasting text, that image is sent directly to Claude to read the claim from it, the same way the text box works, just via a picture. The image itself is validated on the server and then discarded. It is never written to disk or stored anywhere. Only the resulting text transcription and evidence report are saved.

Generated reports. Every report produced is saved on the server so it can have a permanent, shareable link. Saved reports include the original submitted text (or the text transcribed from an attached image) and the resulting evidence ledger, but never the image file itself. They aren't linked to your name, email, or any account. There are no user accounts on the public side of this site at all.

Standard server logs. Like virtually any website, the web server may log basic technical information (IP address, browser type, timestamp) for security and troubleshooting purposes. This is standard hosting-level logging, not something this application adds on top.

• No accounts, no sign-up, no passwords for the public tool.
• No advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts.
• No cookies are set by this application itself.

Submitted claim text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis, which includes running live web searches to find sources. Anthropic's own privacy practices govern that processing. A JavaScript library (html2canvas, for the "Save as Image" feature) is loaded from a public CDN (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) directly in your browser. No claim data is sent to that CDN; it's used purely to render an image from what's already on the page.

Saved reports are not automatically deleted and may remain accessible via their share link indefinitely. If you'd like a specific report removed, use the contact page and reference the report's link.

This policy may be updated as the site changes. Check back here for the current version. No separate notice is sent, since there's nothing to send it to.
